HIGHEST QUALITY IS OUR PASSION
WE’RE STILL MAKING SAUSAGE THE SAME WAY WE LEARNED IN THE OLD WORLD.
Our Story
In the small town of Selb, Germany, the year 1926 marked a significant milestone in the Geier family's culinary journey. Gustav Geier, a young and ambitious butcher, had just graduated from the “Fleichar-Schule”.
Upon graduating, Gustav opened his own butcher shop in Selb in 1929, laying the foundation for a family legacy that would span generations. His sausages, cured meats, and other delicacies quickly gained a reputation for their unparalleled quality and flavor. With unwavering determination, he worked tirelessly, his family by his side, expanding his business and establishing multiple locations throughout the area.
As the years passed, Gustav's youngest son, Karl, inherited his father's passion for sausage-making. After completing his apprenticeship, Karl's desire for adventure and "The American Dream" led him to follow the love of his life, Gisa, to the United States.
Karl and Gisa worked tirelessly at a large sausage processing plant in Detroit, Michigan. Their dedication and unwavering commitment to quality quickly earned them recognition. However, Karl wanted to finish mastering his skills and returned to work his father in Germany.
After arriving in Germany, Karl resumed his work, honing his skills and earning the coveted 'Master Sausage Maker' degree.
With a wealth of knowledge and experience under his belt, Karl and Gisa made the bold decision to return to Detroit. They resumed their positions at the sausage processing plant, their contributions highly valued. After years of dedicated service, they desired a change of scenery and a new chapter in their lives.
In the sun-soaked city of Sarasota, Florida, Karl and Gisa found the perfect place to establish their own business. In 1981, they opened Geier's Sausage Kitchen, a testament to their unwavering passion and the culmination of a family legacy.
As the years passed, Karl and Gisa passed on their knowledge and passion to their daughters, Judy and Caroline, and now their granddaughters. Who now carry on the family legacy with the same dedication and excellence that has defined Geier's from its inception. The family's unwavering commitment to tradition and innovation ensures that each bite of their sausages is a testament to the culinary journey that began in a small butcher shop in Selb, Germany, nearly a century ago.
